The 4 things to know about Blake’s on Poydras, now serving breakfast, lunch and dinner

Blake’s on Poydras opened May 5 and added dinner a week later. Here’s what you need to know about the new CBD restaurant:

1. Blake’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The menu includes chicken fried steak ($13), fried green tomatoes with spicy Remoulade ($8) and grilled okra with goat cheese ($8). (See the full menu online)

2. Blake’s is named after owner Alex Miller’s son, who is autistic. Miller wanted to bring more attention to autism with the name.

3. The nightly happy hour runs from 3 to 7 p.m., for CBD workers slipping out of the office early, with $5 20-ounce draft beer, half-off house wines and $5 cocktails.

4. The restaurant is located in a historic building that most recently was home to the Japanese restaurant Horinoya. The owner of Horinoya decided to retire after 50 years in the restaurant business.
